 A native of Dallas, Texas, artist Christie Roberts Helm is recognized for her evocative abstract works and color-saturated surreal portraits. Helm's work is part of private and corporate collections throughout the country (in New York, Texas, Illinois, California and Colorado) as well as England. After earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The University of Colorado at Boulder, Christie pursued a career in New York City. Her work has been exhibited in numerous solo and juried exhibitions, including a turn as featured artist of Art on the Boulevard. Through the years, Helm has studied varied artistic disciplines--from historical architecture and interiors to fashion, jewelry and floral design, believing the intellectual and visual stimulation has a positive impact on her unique pieces with striking color combinations. Larry Bradshaw, Curator and Professor of art recently commented on one of Helm's paintings: "CHRISTIE HELM of Hinsdale, Illinois deals with verses in Revelations. With rich texture, her large oil on linen piece 'Revelation 4:4' is very strong." Christie is now living in Chicago with her husband and three children. Christie is interested in exploring the spiritual realm as it relates to our culture and to us individually in her work. Her paintings are captured meditations which she hopes will allow the viewer to be fully enraptured in the moment. |
